BOAT PARKING RULES

Please Note: BOAT PARKING SPOTS are only available to Members of the JIYC

JIYC Boat Parking AGREEMENT
1.    The boating parking facilities of the JIYC are a privilege and for JIYC members only.  Parking of Boats/trailers is at member’s sole risk.  JIYC is not responsible for any damages that might occur to boats – trailers – or equipment.
2.    All boats (power, sail, and other) must have a visible JIYC sticker. Stickers will be placed on the starboard side of the bow of the boat and on the tongue of the trailer.
3.    The Sailing or Grounds Committee chairman, and/or other club officials may move boats at any time.  Members are not to move another member’s boats unless for emergency situations or for official club business.
4.    One boat spot per member.
5.    No spots are allocated for non-resident members.  Non-resident members can always apply to be made a resident member if boat parking is important to them.
6.    All boats will be on appropriately sized trailers or dollies.  Dollies must be approved by club management or by the Chairman of the sailing committee.This must be done before the boat is left on the premises.NoSunfish stored on 30’ trailers, etc.
7.    All trailers will have functioning 3rd wheels to help in moving for mowing and maintenance.
8.    Tongues can only be locked in the open position (if locked at all).
9.    All trailers must be in roadworthy condition.
10.      Spot markings will mark where the rear of the trailer will be positioned. Boats can park only in their designated spots.
11.      Boats that are not used regularly should not be allocated a parking spot.
12.      Boats that are not in good, usable condition will not be allocated a parking spot.
13.      Weekend parking will be allowed in the general parking areas, as always.
14.      All rule violations and their violators will be presented to the board for appropriate action.
15.      Parking spots will be retained from year to year as long as all of these rules are obeyed.
16.      Parking spots will be assigned by the Club Manager, Commodore, and any designated representatives (Sailing Chairman, Grounds Chairman) appointed by the Commodore.
17.      Once all spots are filled, a waiting list for each size/type area will be started.  As appropriate spots are opened, they will be filled from wait list.
18.      Racks may be used by both resident members and junior sailors whose parents are resident members.
           If your boat is stored on the club’s racks, the trailer may not be stored on club grounds.
19.      Boats must be moved off the JIYC property during the month of February.
20.      The parking of boats will be allotted to the available areas that have been used for that purpose.  The board has assigned various areas for different size boats.  This policy must be adhered to.
21.      Optimist and Sunfish must be stored on racks if space is available.  As more racks are built, it is the intent to require all small board boats and similar boats to be stored in racks and not on single boat trailers.
22.       Boat & Trailer must be Owned by the member who is designated for that particular parking spot, and that parking space is non-transferable

FEES:      BOATS on TRAILERS:  $8.00 per Foot / Year             BOATS on SAILING RACKS: $40.00 / Year
