Commodore's Comments for April
As the weather slowly changes to spring, the club is getting ready for the busy months ahead. With the nice weather, we also see an increase in non-members trying to use our ramps and docks.  I would like to remind the members that you must be with your guests for them to use our club. Please do not give your card away so a friend can use the club.
Another problem area is with our grown children.  If your child is over 21, they are considered to be a non-member.  You must be with them even if they are coming to the club to launch a boat.  We would encourage you to consider your grown child for membership of the club so that they can continue to have use of the club.  As in prior years, we will continue to have spot checks at the gate for enforcement of the club policies.
Please mark your calendar for APRIL 16TH, 23RD, and 30TH.  The club will be sponsoring a POWER SQUADRON COURSE on those evenings.  There will be a minimal charge for the required books and information.  Please check for more information and a Sign Up Sheet in next months newsletter, or around the club.
A special thanks goes out to the Ladies Auxiliary.  As you can see, we have two great events planned in April.  Don’t Forget to mark your calendar.
Also, please take notice that our sailing committee is trying to set up a “pool” of available “boaters” to use as Chase boats during our regatta season.  We would love to have some of the recreational boaters interested join the regatta race committees.  Your help would be appreciated.  If you are interested in helping out, please contact Mike Hiester : 769-7299 or Richard Gerry : 795-7170
Don’t forget that our cooking committee normally serves dinner on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month, plus we will have a special guest cook on the 2nd Friday in April.    Richard Moore, one of our bartenders and “Foodezes caterers” will prepare a special meal on April 11th.  They promise a good meal, and that the cost per plate will be the same as our normal prices.  ( PLEASE NOTE: THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE AFTER OUR CYGNET WENT TO PRESS.....DUE TO THE HEALTH FAIR ON APRIL 12th, THE MEAL PLANNED FOR APRIL 11TH (2nd Friday of the month) WILL BE MOVED TO APRIL 25th (the 4th Friday of the Month)...SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

Hope to see you at the Club,     Tom McMillan - Commodore
