GENERAL CLUB PRIVILEGES, RULES AND INFORMATION

General membership meetings are held monthly at the Club on the second Monday of each month, except September.  The cooking committee serves supper at a nominal cost beginning at 7:00 PM, followed by a meeting at 8:00 PM.  Only business of an essential nature is usually conducted and occasionally a program of special interest is presented.  Wives are cordially invited to attend the monthly house suppers, and to join the Ladies Auxiliary afterward for their meeting in the lounge.

A Club key and a membership card for the current year along with a copy of this booklet are provided to each new member upon payment of dues and initiation fee.  Club cards may be upgraded as directed by the Board of Directors.  Club keys will unlock the tennis courts and outside doors to restrooms.

The 12 member Board of Directors normally meets at the Club on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 PM.  Any Club member may attend a board meeting for information and, with prior approval, may introduce an item of business for consideration by the board.
Club members are entitled to the use of Club facilities at all times.  Members are encouraged to participate in all organized Club activities.  However, no activity at the Club will restrict the use of Club facilities by Club members, except during scheduled Club events where prior notice has been given.
There will be spot checks for membership identification by the Club manager and/or the Security Committee.

HOUSE RULES
Bar service will be limited to members only and proof of Club membership will be required prior to service at the bar.

No one under 21 years of age will not be allowed in the lounge, nor may they consume alcoholic beverages on Club property.

Shirts and shoes must be worn in the lounge.  Service will be available at the lounge service window during normal Club hours.

During normal bar hours, only alcoholic beverages purchased at the bar may be consumed on the Club grounds.

Please be aware that once Bar tabs are calculated at the end of the month, and $1 service charge is added to cover postage and materials.  If that tab is not paid in full by the end of the following month, past due charges will accumulate, and credit privileges may be revoked until the bill is fully paid.

Any donation to the club must have prior approval by the House Committee chairman.

The house phone may be used for local calls only.  Please limit calls to 3 minutes.

 GROUNDS
Park in designated parking areas only.

Use the containers provided for trash and other refuse.

Absolutely no pets allowed on Club grounds.

Store water hoses properly after washing boats and trailers.

Boats must be stored in designated storage areas only with JIYC tag attached.

Boat trailers must be maintained in good mechanical condition with JIYC tag attached.
Speed limits on the Club grounds is 10 MPH.  Cars and trailers should be parked
so that normal traffic on the grounds is not impeded.

A curfew exists between the hours of 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM for anyone under 21 years of age unless accompanied by a Club member.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult while on property at all times.





WATERFRONT
Vehicles are not allowed on the pier.

The hoist will be locked when not in use.

Swimming is allowed from the front beach only.

Floating docks are for temporary use and yachtsmen have priority in their use.

Boats over 25 ft. except for emergency use cannot use the floating docks.

Use consideration for others, especially when shrimping, crabbing or fishing from the pier.

No bicycle riding on the pier.

TENNIS COURT RULES
Appropriate tennis clothing and authorized tennis shoes are required.  Shirts must
be worn.

No food  on courts.

No profanity or racket throwing.

Only players allowed on courts.

Tennis court gates must be locked when leaving the courts.

No roller skates allowed on courts.

GUEST RULES
The use of Club facilities shall be confined to members, their immediate families
and guests of members or their families.  Guests MUST be accompanied by a
Club member or immediate adult family member. (Immediate family members
include wives, sons/daughters and dependents UNDER 21 years of age).

Immediate family members, as defined above, are allowed a MAXIMUM of 2
guests per visit.  All such guest visits require prior approval of the Club member.

Club members are authorized a MAXIMUM of 6 guests per visit unless otherwise
authorized by the Commodore or Club manager.

Guests and the accompanying member must jointly register in the guest register
prior to the guest being served in the lounge.

Guests residing in the greater Charleston area should generally not be allowed to
use the Club more than once a month.

Club keys must not be loaned to guests.

SPECIAL NOTICE ABOUT USE OF BOAT RAMPS AND PARKING TRAILERS DURING SUMMER SEASON!!

Due to limited space, if a member would only allow one boat & trailer to
use the water access ramps and vehicle / trailer parking area.  Put simply,
a member is allowed to bring 6 guests or a child is allowed to bring 2 guests,
But Each guest is not allowed to bring their own – individual trailer and boat
to access the water and park their vehicle & trailer on club grounds. 
Please, No more than one boat / trailer to each member or immediate
family member should be left on club grounds without prior approval
from management.
